UPDATED TOTALS: We are proud to share that we have now shipped 36,314 books to 64 schools spread throughout Niue, Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu, The Cook Islands, Vanuatu and Tokelau. We'll be sending more books in the coming months and years, so please visit our Get involved page if you want to help make a difference. We are pleased to advise that our 2010-2011 Annual Report is now available to view or print out via our Downloads page (see above). It has been an incredibly humbling year for us and we can only thank everyone who has supported us in our journey: Scholastic New Zealand; Reef Shipping; and dozens of schools and individuals and a growing number of publishers. Our dream is simple and achievable. We want to see school libraries in the Pacific full to overflowing with quality books that will capture the imagination of children and inspire them as they progress through school. That’s part one of the plan. To keep the dream alive, we need to renew the books every 3-4 years so that the next crop of kids can have access to quality books as well. Finally, we want to send enough books into the Pacific so that every new entrant can take home a book of their own on their first day at school. We want children to develop a love of books from the day they start school. Please take up the challenge and support us to help make a difference.
